ESG

- Many funds are simply not allowed to touch (cyclical) profitable sectors that have the potential to become more secular. ESG says no.
- How long before perceived "dirty" industries are forgiven and resources goes the way of vice-tech (eg gambling)?
- Some vice-tech doesn't trade at a discount for being "socially friendly" because the pool of profit is simply too great. Can this happen in the future?
- Another pain point would be a transition in the ESG space.
- How long before funds are going to their ESG committees to say something like "energy security is our social responsibility"?
- Are you paying your manager to make money or be "responsible"?
