China Reopening Trade
A bit late to this but becoming a perhaps more topical today. Things heading in the right direction for reopening but still lots of nervousness within the public remains and fear of getting COVID is an issue. The COVID fear is something that I think took most places 12 months to work through. The ramp up should be gradual rather than immediate due to this.
Lots are playing this thematic via airports which makes sense when tourism should leg up again on the back of almost 20% of the world being allowed to travel again.
A bit of social commentary, but I have xenophobia concerns. The combination of COVID origins + western government approved/led anti-China rhetoric may do funny things. No Chinese tourists in any country for 3 years, what happens if people get annoyed by Chinese tourists? A serious risk for Chinese tourists that Paris Syndrome extends to other regions of the world too.
